Keep car theft, hijacking and abuse in check

Vehicle theft is slowly overtaking other property crimes. We frequently hear stories of car theft and the horrific incidents that have taken place leaving the victims in a state of shock, agony and disbelief that they will wake up next morning without their much loved car. Lots of money involved to replace it too. Such is life, is it?

Governments are spending lots of resources in trying to assure its citizens that it is still safe to own a vehicle and drive on the roads within their countries but, at the same time, the car thieves intensify their efforts to get rich through vehicle thefts by devising more sophisticated ways in vehicle thefts. Admittedly, there is only so much law enforcement officials can do to keep us safe from vehicle theft.

Companies have not left the situation unattended. They have come up with myriad solutions to counter car thefts giving car owners various options to choose from in an effort to compliment government efforts to curb car thefts. Immobilisers, car alarms and a number of car security systems have been invented and put on the market with various degrees of success in curbing vehicle thefts.

Car tracking systems have been devised to overcome the shortfalls of car immobilisers and alarm-based vehicle theft prevention systems. Car tracking systems allow the police to track down the stolen vehicle, apprehend the suspects and return the vehicle safely to its owner. Some car tracking systems use a global positioning system (GPS) to locate the cars while others use a Global System for Mobile telecommunication (GSM). The difference between the two systems is that GPS uses a line of sight to locate its vehicle, while GSM uses the telecommunications system used in mobile phones to communicate with the vehicle and identify its whereabouts by returning location coordinates of longitude and latitude.

CARTRACK is a car tracking system that locates its vehicle using the latest state-of-the-art GPS, GPRS, GSM and Radio Frequency technologies. In using these technologies, CARTRACK avoids the pitfalls of failing to locate its vehicle because it cannot “see” it when the vehicle is hidden in a garage or carport, under a bridge, in a container etc. The introduction of GPRS in Malawi has enabled CARTRACK to provide a Realtime Fleet Management System that enables the user to monitor his vehicles from the comfort of his office. The user sees where his vehicle is, the state it is in, the speed at which it is travelling and the odometer reading. With the Realtime Fleet Management System, the user can also generate specific reports. No additional software installation is needed on the client’s desktop or laptop - just Internet Explorer to access a website.  Then, using his username and password, the client chooses a vehicle that he or she wishes to monitor.

In Malawi CARTRACK is offered by Proteck Security Solutions Ltd in Blantyre. CARTRACK recovery systems enable recovery of your vehicle throughout the entire sub-Saharan Africa region if it is stolen or hijacked. With CARTRACK you can also instantly locate the whereabouts of your vehicle via a 24-hour manned control room.

CARTRACK’s system represents the most realistic chance to find and recover your stolen or hijacked vehicle. We work hand in hand with the police to provide the assurance that vehicle owners deserve.

However, CARTRACK does not allow us to see inside the vehicle so we can’t report on the contents etc! Therefore your privacy is guaranteed.

Now you know about CARTRACK, do you still want to face the pain of not finding your stolen vehicle? Install CARTRACK in your vehicle now and you will not regret it. Our Realtime Fleet Management System will go a long way to monitoring your fleet, reducing vehicle abuse - and even accidents too. Give us a call so we can discuss your requirements. Some have already benefited from the use of these products and you do not need to delay.
