What do you do if your car has a breakdown or accident?

_If you’re an AA Member
Reliable garages are scarce outside the major towns and cities so, in most cases, motorists in Malawi have to call on friends or colleagues to come to their rescue. But it’s not only inconvenient when your car lets you down,  it’s often expensive, too.

Now the AA has arrived to give you peace of mind. We’ll fix your car at the roadside whenever possible but, if not, we’ll simply load you, your passengers and your vehicle onto our recovery truck and all you have to do is enjoy the ride home!  Alternatively, if you have easy access to a second vehicle, we’ll bring it along so you can continue your journey as planned while we get your car safely back to town.

Just call the AA and we’ll be there - just as fast as our wheels can carry us!

But what if I don’t have AA membership?
The AA also provides recovery and other services to non-members but they pay the normal market rate, while AA members receive services that are either free or heavily discounted. Also, it’s worth remembering that AA members always get priority.

But it will never happen to me!
It’s a sad fact of life that “it” probably will, even if it isn’t your fault, and don’t forget it usually costs a lot less to join the AA than it does to get your car towed!

How much does it cost to join the AA?

_It all depends on the number of vehicles you sign up and the type of membership you choose:

Full Membership:
From K48,000* pa for a single vehicle to around K28,000* pa per vehicle for corporate fleets.
Full membership includes free call-outs and recoveries as well as the whole range of other benefits and discounts.

Joint Membership:
Costs K64,000* for two vehicles and includes six free call-outs per year (three nationwide and three local).

Bronze Membership:
Costs just K20,000* pa and entitles you to one free call-out or recovery within city limits (Lilongwe/Kanengo or Blantyre/Limbe) and 50% off all other call-out and recovery charges.

Fleet Membership:
Particularly affordable for businesses with a large number of vehicles, the AA offers fleet membership packages especially tailored to suit your needs. Call us with your requirements and we will give you a quote.

If you don’t call us out, we can save you up to 50%!!!
Yes, if your vehicle doesn’t need our attention during its first year of membership, we’ll give you a 10% discount off the normal rate when you renew, plus a further 10% each year.  After 5 years, we’ll give you our maximum discount of 50% - that’s half price membership!

* Plus 16.5% VAT
